LOST PROPERTY
HAVE YOU LEFT ANYTHING BEHIND?

Please take care to ensure that you have all of your belongings with you when you get off the bus.

Anyone who finds property accidentally left on a bus must immediately hand it, in the state in which he/she finds it, to the driver. If this is not practicable, such property must be handed in to a Wilts & Dorset office as soon as possible.

All articles found on Wilts & Dorset buses will be deposited at the Company’s nearest lost property office, where all enquiries regarding lost items should be made. There are lost property offices in the bus stations at Poole (01202) 673555, Swanage (01929) 422528, Lymington (01590) 672382 and Salisbury (01722) 336855.

The Company reserves the right to examine all lost property for reasons of security or to assess value, and shall return official documents such as driving licences, passports or pension books to the issuing authority as soon as possible.

If any property retained by the Company appears to be of a perishable nature and is not claimed within 48 hours from the time when it was found, it may be destroyed or otherwise disposed of – this may happen earlier if the property becomes objectionable.
The Company will charge all claimants of lost property a fee not exceeding £2.00.

Any property unclaimed after one calendar month will be disposed of by the Company as it sees fit. This will also apply if claimants have insufficient proof of ownership or refuse to pay the fee.

The Company will keep a record of all property handed in to lost property offices for a period not exceeding six months.

The above is a summary of HM Government regulations.
